About Georgia O’Keeffe
Georgia O’Keeffe (1887–1986) was one of the most important American artists of the 20th century. Her distinctive style transformed everyday subjects—especially flowers and desert landscapes—into powerful expressions of color and form. She pioneered modern abstraction and became known as the “Mother of American Modernism.” O’Keeffe spent much of her life painting in New Mexico, where the desert’s light and shapes deeply influenced her work.
