About Grant Wood
Grant Wood (1891–1942) was an American painter best known for American Gothic, one of the most recognizable paintings in U.S. art history. A native of Iowa, Wood celebrated small-town life, rolling farmland, and traditional craftsmanship. His work became central to the Regionalist Art Movement, which sought to portray the beauty and resilience of rural America during the 1930s.
