Points
How many different shapes can you make with 3 points? How about with 5? Explore how the placement of points creates and changes polygons.
How It Works
- Press Make Points, then click anywhere on the canvas to place at least three points.
- Tap Make Shape to connect your points into a polygon.
- Drag any point to transform the shape; the sides will update instantly.
- Change color: tap the yellow color swatch, choose a color, select Paint, then click the shape.
- Remove shapes with Delete, or clear everything with the trash can.
Classroom Ideas
- Polygon Practice: Build and label triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and beyond.
- Triangle Types: Create and compare scalene, isosceles, and equilateral triangles.
- Regular vs. Irregular: Experiment with evenly spaced points (regular) versus varied spacing (irregular).
- Order Matters: Place the same points in different orders to see how the resulting shape changes.
- Picture Build: Combine multiple polygons to design a house, robot, or abstract artwork.
