Lights Out Puzzle
Can you turn off every light? Lights Out is a free online logic puzzle where each tap changes several squares at once. Explore patterns, plan your moves, and try to leave the whole board dark.
How to Play
- Tap any square to switch it and its neighbors directly above, below, left, and right.
- Yellow squares turn dark, and dark squares turn yellow. Diagonal squares stay the same.
- Turn off every light to solve the puzzle.
- Choose 3, 4, or 5 to play on a 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 board.
- Select Next Puzzle after a win, or New Game for a fresh board.
Each grid size begins with puzzles that can be solved in one tap. As you complete puzzles, the challenges gradually increase to two and then three taps. There is no time limit, so you can experiment and work at your own pace.
Lights Out Strategy
Watch how each tap changes the board. You can tap a dark square, too—it may be the key to switching off nearby lights. Tapping the same square twice reverses its effect, so think about which combination of squares will clear the board in the fewest moves.
