Prisms

A prism is a three-dimensional solid with two matching, parallel bases. These prisms have rectangular side faces connecting their bases. Explore triangular, square, pentagonal, hexagonal, and heptagonal prisms.

Prisms are named after the shape of their bases. A triangular prism has two triangular bases, while a pentagonal prism has two pentagonal bases. As the number of sides in the base increases, so do the numbers of faces, edges, and vertices.

Select a prism and drag to rotate it. Use Unfold and Fold to explore its faces, Transparent to reveal hidden edges, and Show or Hide to display or conceal the counts.
