Pyramids
A pyramid is a three-dimensional solid with one polygon base and triangular side faces that meet at a point called the apex. Explore triangular, square, pentagonal, hexagonal, and heptagonal pyramids.
Pyramids are named after the shape of their base. A square pyramid has one square base and four triangular side faces. Compare the five pyramids to see how the base determines the number of faces, edges, and vertices.
Select a pyramid and drag to rotate it. Use Unfold and Fold to explore its faces, Transparent to reveal hidden edges, and Show or Hide to display or conceal the counts.
