Play Money Europe
Play Money Europe
How much does a croissant cost in France? Perhaps 1.5 euros? Pretend you’re touring Europe and practice paying for items with our play Euro money.
Including banknotes and coins, our online euros give you a taste of what it’s like to pay for things in Europe. Twenty countries use euros, including France, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Our online euros reflect the shape and color of real euro bills and coins. Drag and drop coins and bills onto the grid. Then, click, drag, and drop numbers and symbols. Make your own notes using the pencil tool. Erase pencil markings with the eraser tool. The trash can tool eliminates everything from the board.
Turn the online Europe play money into a learning opportunity. Here are a few activities to try:
- Ask students to research the cost of common European foods, such as Italian pizza or espresso, a plate of Spanish paella, or a German schnitzel. Then, have students “pay” for them using the play money.
- Invite children to pay for the above items using a larger bill and then calculate and show the change for their purchase.
- Ask students to model addition and subtraction questions using euros.
